Terms and Conditions
All applications will be treated respectfully and in the strictest of confidence.
An applicant is eligible to apply and will be considered if s/he has a parent or grandparent who is of Lebanese origin, or if s/he has been legally adopted by parents one of whom has a parent or grandparent who is of Lebanese origin.
Deadlines for applications have to be met. Late applications will not be considered.
The application must be completed in full and be accompanied by all the relevant supporting documentation required. SALEAF will not consider applications which are not compliant with this condition.
Only certified copies of academic results are acceptable.
False information will immediately disqualify an applicant from obtaining any form of funding from SALEAF.
Should it come to light that information relevant to the application has been withheld or misrepresented, SALEAF reserves the right to withdraw Bursaries or loans which have been granted and to claim an immediate refund thereof.
SALEAF reserves the right to request originals of all relevant documentation, request additional information where necessary and to obtain independent references.
Having undertaken a sensitive, complete and thorough assessment of the applicant, SALEAF will make a final decision in its sole discretion, which will not be subject to explanations or reconsiderations.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to make themselves available for an interview with the SALEAF selection panel, as well as a Psychometric Assessment.
Successful applicants may be required to commit to assisting SALEAF in its endeavours to achieve the educational advancement of members of the Lebanese community in South Africa.
All educational funding granted will be paid directly to the relevant institution by SALEAF.
Book and literature grants will be paid directly to the relevant stores where possible. Alternatively, book grants will be paid to the applicant subject to the presentation of relevant receipts to SALEAF.
Academic ability and results will be regularly monitored by SALEAF. Recipients will be required to submit quarterly, half-yearly and final academic results to SALEAF as soon as they are received.
